“Associazione Interprovinciale Produttori Ortofrutticoli Società Agricola Cooperativa” is a Fruit and Vegetable Producers Organization specializing in the production of fresh tomatoes for industrial processing, for crushed tomatoes, sieved tomatoes, concentrated tomato paste and sauces.

It was established in 1974. In 1977 it was acknowledged as a Producers Association and registered under No. 63 of the National list based on the old EEC Regulation 1035/72.

In 1997 it was acknowledged as a Universal Producers Organization according to EU Regulation 2200/96, Article 11, paragraph a), letter i and suitable according to the EC Regulation 1234/2007 of CMO in fruit and vegetables.

The main crop is the industrial tomato with a growth, in twenty years, of more than 20% of the area and of over 35% of production.

Our social base has more than 350 farms, which join directly and/or through the 4 member cooperatives.

We cultivate over 7,500 hectares of tomato distributed in the territories of Emilia Romagna, Lombardia, Veneto and Piemonte, which is about 10% of national production.

All the production is managed with cultivation techniques in compliance with the Guidelines for Integrated Production of the respective Regions of the farms, thus offering a healthy product and fully respecting the environment.

This production philosophy has enabled the Producer Organisations to become a leading producer and supplier of fresh tomatoes for the processing industry in the Northern Italy area.

Based on our experience, we have drawn up guidelines to support our member companies in the crops of our interest in full compliance with the best agricultural practices.
